No. The submitted research must not have been previously published partially, or adapted from a doctoral thesis, a master’s thesis, or a current project to obtain a postgraduate degree from any university or in any language.

Members of committees, teams or external arbitrators are not eligible to participate in the competition.

Employees of civil retirement and social insurance agencies in the GCC countries are not eligible to participate in the competition.

The host country shall cover the researcher’s travel and accommodation costs if he is qualified.

The intellectual property of the winning research goes to the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the researcher has the right to publish it provided that he mentions the supporting body: The Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council in coordination with the Social Protection Fund.

The integrated research includes the following elements:

Introduction, research question, significance of research, research objectives and importance, literature review, analysis of results and discussion, conclusion, recommendations and limitations.

It must be provided with a list that includes the most important references used in the research.

The number of words for the integrated research in the category of researchers holding doctorates and master’s degrees ranges between (12,000 – 15,000) words, including cross-references, footnotes, and lists.

The number of words of the integrated research in the category of researchers who hold a bachelor’s degree, university degree or college students is (8000) words (with reference to footnotes and references according to the researcher’s vision).

Integrated research is sent electronically via email: (GCCAward@spf.gov.om) in word format and PDF format, titled with the name, address, and contact information of the researcher, and directed to the main committee.

Research proposals (electronic form) are sent during the period (November 26, 2023, until January 25, 2024).

The results of research proposals will be announced in March 2024, and qualified researchers will be contacted.

Integrated research should be submitted before (December 26, 2024)

Scientific research will be evaluated during the period (January – April 2025)

Winners will be announced in April 2025

  • The value of the award for the researcher who wins first place is 6,000 OMR (six thousand Omani riyals) or its equivalent in currencies in the GCC countries + a certificate of entitlement signed by the Secretariat General of Gulf Cooperation Council.
  • The value of the award for the researcher who wins second place is 5,000 OMR (five thousand Omani riyals) or its equivalent in currencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries + a certificate of entitlement signed by the Secretariat General of Gulf Cooperation Council
  • The value of the award for the researcher who wins first place is 4,000 OMR (four thousand Omani riyals) or its equivalent in currencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (+ a certificate of entitlement signed by the Secretariat General of Gulf Cooperation Council)
  • The value of the award for the researcher who wins second place is: 3,000 OMR (three thousand Omani riyals) or its equivalent in currencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries + a certificate of entitlement signed by the Secretariat General of Gulf Cooperation Council.
  • The value of the award for the third-place winning researcher is: 2,000 OMR (two thousand Omani Riyals) or its equivalent in currencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries + a certificate of entitlement signed by the Secretariat General of Gulf Cooperation Council.

The country hosting the award will publish the winning and recommended research in a peer-reviewed scientific journal. The research will also be published in one joint issue, to facilitate the process of reference to it by segments of society and those interested.

The award amount is sent to the account of the approved main researcher in the research team, and the main committee does not interfere in the method of distribution among the rest of the members

Certificates of participation are granted to those who have been qualified for the integrated research preparation stage.
